- Lead a team of Infrastructure and End User Services professionals establishing work priorities, provide direction, coaching, feedback and support of development goals and targets to individuals.
- Direct the planning, financing, implementation, and maintenance of South Bow’s infrastructure, including:
- Providing technical expertise (i.e., tactical, and operational) on evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of information systems
- Partnering with the leadership team on strategic technology initiatives and projects to forecast costs, equipment, and resources. Understand the trade-off and risks associated with technical debt
- Establishing and monitoring the infrastructure metrics to track productivity, quality, service levels, and resource utilization, to collect the voice-of-the-customer data, and to enable projects to be on schedule and within budget
- Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of South Bow’s network infrastructure, data center, cloud infrastructure and end user computing.
- Ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of South Bow’s technology systems.
- Managing day-to-day activities and planning of network and data center / cloud engineers and technicians team.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures for network, data center / cloud management.
- Monitoring and analyzing network and data center / cloud performance and capacity management.
- Maintaining and verifying annually the team’s Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Build out new DevOps function and put in place processes and delivery framework.
- Manage local wired and wireless networks, wireless bridge and connectivity .
- Responsible for day-to-day system administration, including management of internal network, VPN, Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and system backups.
- Perform Moves, Adds, and Changes with employees.
- Manage IT assets including PC’s, monitors, phones, printers, projectors, scanners and cell phones.
- Management and oversight of installs, configuration of new and existing servers and network infrastructure.
- Develop and manage budgets for operations, including capital expenditures and operational expenses. Monitor and control costs while optimizing resource allocation.
- Oversee relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure they meet service level agreements and deliver quality services. Negotiate contracts and agreements as needed.
- Responsible for overall system and infrastructure availability and develop a resilient infrastructure to reduce failures.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address unexpected events that may affect compute and data center operations.
- Have direct involvement in incidents or problems (irrespective of priority) that cause service impact and acts as escalation point for incidents not being resolved in a timely manner.
- Work with the Service Desk team to set SLA criteria for the availability and performance of the IT infrastructure. Ensure compliance to both internal and external SLAs.
- Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure service delivery methods and procedures.
- Monitors business critical processes and systems.
- Plan and implement upgrades needed to maintain service levels.
- Develop and lead the replacement of infrastructure at end of life.
- Management of testing and analysis of all components of network and server infrastructure components.
- Responsible for infrastructure roadmaps and disaster recovery services to mitigate future service interruptions.
- Responsible for providing strong leadership for all matters relating to operations and Service Desk support, ITIL/ISO processes/guidelines to achieve service excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Technology or relevant degree,
- 10 years of varied and progressive technical professional experience in the IT infrastructure field.
- Proven track record of handling IT and ServiceDesk operations and infrastructure support escalations (e.g. network systems, storage).
- Technical proficiency and knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems to effectively manage and troubleshoot issues.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) qualification will be advantageous.
- Effective and influential communicator with a proven track record of agile, innovative and transformative business results.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment while balancing multiple, sometimes competing priorities successfully.
- Ability to work to overcome obstacles and/or plans for contingencies.
- Ability to review performance and progress on a regular basis through metrics and KPIs to ensure the team is achieving required results.
- Maintain positive working relationships and open communication channels with other teams and domains and ensure work processes are in place for well-planned end-to-end service management.
- Ability to interact at all levels of the company and to discuss and present complex topics in a variety of settings and to varied audiences.
- Experience in building and leading high-performance teams.
- Ability to work effectively in both an insourced as well as outsourced operational delivery model.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President of Information Services, the Infrastructure Operations Manager is a critical role responsible for leading the Infrastructure Operations support functions across the organization. This role is responsible for the activities involved in the setup, design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure that supports business services. The Manager Infrastructure Operations will oversee all matters relating to Operations and Service Desk management and ensure continuous process improvement and service level standards to achieve optimal efficiency, increase productivity and meet high customer expectation and satisfaction. Oversight of cloud compute environments, physical data center infrastructure, network operations across North America, as well as service delivery for end user environments.
The role requires an individual with an impeccable track record of developing and implementing strategy, improving team performance, and achieving results by building a responsive and accountable team. This role will be accountable for ensuring the team is effectively positioned and managed to provide support services and will have accountability to ensure safe and reliable operations are achieved to meet business objectives.
