- Under the guidance of and with preceptor present, communicate effectively with patients, family members and other healthcare disciplines to promote a positive work environment to achieve quality patient care.

- High School Diploma Required
- Required to be currently enrolled or enrolled at time of hire at Nashua Community College and complete the specified number of approved courses for completion of the one-year apprenticeship program.

Job Description:
We are proud to offer the opportunity for individuals to gain the training and experience needed to succeed within the mental health field through a joint partnership with Nashua Community College.
Who We Are:
Within Southern NH Medical Centers Behavioral Health Unit, we understand the important connection between physical, mental, and emotional well-being and have the resources to support our community through inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services.
About the Job:
The selected apprentices will complete a one-year, competency-based apprenticeship program to gain proficiency in serving behavioral health patients. This includes enrolling in and completing courses at Nashua Community College toward an associate degree. After finishing the program, apprentices will be eligible for a Behavioral Health Worker position. Under the guidance of a preceptor, they will care for patients with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders, ensuring a safe care environment, managing daily needs, and facilitating therapeutic activities. They will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and report to the Director of the Behavioral Health Unit.
