      Overview

      We are currently seeking a Special Assets Group Loan Officer. This position will oversee, and be ultimately responsible for, collection and restructuring of poor performing, moderately-complex to complex loans, both unsecured and secured by various types of collateral including real property, inventory, accounts receivable, stocks, etc. This position will be asked to negotiate the sale or liquidation of those assets when necessary. Incumbent will also be responsible for all reporting and portfolio analysis related to distressed transactions.

      Responsibilities

      As a valuable East West Bank team member, your duties (not limited to) will include:

      • Responsible for managing a portfolio of problem loans (C&I, ABL, Specialty Finance, ETC.).
      • Manages the largest and most complex consumer, commercial, and real estate loan portfolio.
      • Utilizes a high degree of independence in managing a large portfolio of a diverse and complex nature.
      • Works in a team environment developing and recommending strategies to maximize recovery and reduce losses.
      • Works closely with borrowers management team (typically C-Suite), executives and attorneys to review and restructure credits with the goal to secure repayment terms, verify and secure additional collateral, attain an equity position or charge-off the loan as appropriate.
      • Maintains awareness of current collection and lending laws for all types of loans.
      • Experience with in court out of court restructuring (working knowledge of bankruptcy and bankruptcy code a plus).

      Qualifications

      • Minimum 10-15 years in complex consumer, commercial, and/or private banking lending/account management experience in a financial institution or restructuring consulting firm required.
      • Minimum 10-15 years analyzing corporate financial statements and commercial/corporate structure required. Minimum 5-10 years’ experience with loan restructuring and negotiation required.
      • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience analyzing credit and negotiating repayment terms required. · Thorough working knowledge of analysis of corporate financial statements and commercial/corporate structure.
      • Demonstrated ability to analyze credit and to develop and negotiate repayment terms with mid­size companies and high net worth individuals.
      • Strong working knowledge of loan restructuring and re-negotiation of interest rates, terms, collateral requirements, documentation and loan agreements.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of Bank personnel and customers. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field highly preferred.

      Compensation

      The base pay range for this position is USD $155,000.00/Yr. - USD $200,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
