      Overview

      Reports To: Senior Special Credits Control Officer

      Primary Functions: Perform collection activity on assigned accounts.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Contact members regarding delinquent financial obligations and make arrangements for repayment.
    • Respond to member inquiries regarding financial obligations owed to the credit union.
    • Perform "skip-traces" as required.
    • Analyze and initiate documentation necessary for refinancing loans and loan extension requests.
    • Analyze and recommend to supervisors, when appropriate, adverse actions on accounts to include, but not limited to, repossessions, closure of credit limits, blocks on credit and debit cards, legal actions and account codes to alert other credit union departments of potential losses.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Qualifications

      Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.

      Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not Applicable

      Experience/Skills: In the opinion of Special Credits Management applicants must display the aptitude and abilities to perform collection actions as required on past due financial obligations and provide members assistance in adverse situations. For internal applicants a minimum of six months of experience with direct and varied member contacts at the credit union is a requirement. Requires good verbal communication skills.

      Tenure: Special Credits Control Officer II, Category 11 requires proven acceptable performance standards in the opinion of management that meets or exceeds expectations for proficiency and efficiency in the collection of past due financial obligations for a minimum period of six months as a SC Control Officer I. SC Control Officer III, Category 10 requires twelve months tenure in the SC Control Officer II position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations for proficiency and efficiency in collection of past due financial obligations and problem solving capacity of adverse situations involving members and their account relationships. At management's discretion, directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.

      Compensation

      Salary Pay Range:

      • Special Credits Control Officer I (Category 12): $48,387 - $73,549 annually
      • Special Credits Control Officer II (Category 11): $52,258 - $81,523 annually
      • Special Credits Control Officer III (Category 10): $57,484 - $90,825 annually

      Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.

      In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
