07/01/2024 Initiate the development of initial or transfer IEPs and may serve as the LEA for various IEP meetings.
Track and communicate all IEP service changes (e.g. setting, accommodations, eligibility changes, related services, AT needs, etc.)
Communicate with SE Data Coordinator all IEP updates regarding goals and objectives academic needs, accommodations, and IEP services
Review for compliance required IEP documents to parent/guardian or Learning Coach and all required team members prior to and following IEP meetings
Monitor attendance and on-camera data for students with disabilities at all grade bands
Assist with verification of accommodations prior to state testing
Review and verify all student class schedules for alignment with IEP services and FTE reporting.
Comply with all written policies and procedures in teacher, district, and grade band handbooks.
Maintain special education records compliance, to include timelines, reporting, and open records requests; as outlined by IDEA and the GADOE
Adaptability/Flexibility: Adapts to change, is open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, and adjusts plans to meet changing needs

Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education AND
Three (3) years of special education teaching and administrative experience OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience
GA PSC Educational Certificate
Special Education certifications
SRT4 Certification in SE General Certification Consultative (P-12) AND
At least 1 Special Education Academic Content Area (Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading and English) P-5, and/or 4-8, and/or P-12 depending upon grade levels served
Clear Fingerprint/Background Check Required
Administrative, supervisory, and leadership skills
Knowledge of legal issues and requirements related to IDEA and Special Education rules, regulations, and law as applicable to position
Knowledge of the Georgia Performance Standards and GADOE Implementation Manual
Understanding of the GADOE Implementation Manual guidelines for Special Education
Strong data-collection, differentiation, and specialized instructional strategy skills
Strong time-management, organizational, and decision-making skills
Ability to write IEP’s and Special Education Eligibility reports
Ability to read and interpret student academic and compliance data and psycho-educational reports
Ability to inspire teachers and school staff to meet school improvement initiatives and goals
Ability to communicate well with school personnel, parents, students, and cabinet office staff while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies
Ability to display a professional attitude in working with school personnel and parents
Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional, and effective working relationships with a wide variety of groups and individuals
Must be able to manage large volumes of paperwork and maintain adequate records
Knowledge of state and federal laws, and other pertinent laws regarding K-12 Education as they relate to applicable duties

This is primarily a Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, 5 days/week, home-based position that may require traveling up to 25% of the time.
During critical periods, in-office days may be required. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic)
In-person attendance at professional development, training, conferences, job fairs, meetings, school events, marketing events, and testing sites will be required several times per year.
Light lifting required.
Work Schedule: This is a Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, 5 Days/Week, primarily remote position. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
In-Person Attendance: In-person attendance at professional development, training, conferences, job fairs, meetings, school events, marketing events, and/or testing sites will be required several times per year.
Vision: (which may be corrected) to read small print; view a computer screen for prolonged periods.
Hearing: (which may be corrected) to answer telephones and tolerate exposure to noisy conditions.
Speech: to be understood in face-to-face or virtual communications; to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone and/or computer.
Upper Body Mobility: use hands and fingers to feel, grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.
Strength: to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis.
Environmental Requirements: encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.
Mental Requirements: read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgment and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records.

SUMMARY: The Special Education Compliance Facilitator is a state-certified educator whose primary role will be to review, develop, and monitor the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP’s). Additionally, the facilitator will assist with the coordination and monitoring of IEPs, as well as state and federal reporting guidelines pertaining to special education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. These functions encompass serving as an LEA and supporting the review and feedback cycle for all compliance best practices.
SUPERVISORY COMPETENCIES: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
