      Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as an advocate for all children and youth Ensure the implementation of state and federal laws as well as ADE rules and regulations regarding special education Prepare and monitor all due process paperwork for accuracy and compliance Facilitate the special education process including maintaining student files and coordinating, scheduling and attending conferences Assist in annual trainings for special education issues including IEP, SEAS, modifications and compliance Assist/advise special education teachers, support staff, parents, general education teachers, and building principals in proper student programming and placement Interact and work closely with team members providing related services to special education students Assist Director as needed Qualifications Preferred Special Education Director's Certificate or Masters in Administration Valid AR teaching license in special education Minimum of three years of experience in special education Clean background check Knowledge and ability to explain psychoeducational evaluation results to parents, teachers, administration and related services personnel Strong organizational skills Effective written and oral communication skills Technology skills to include SEAS, Google and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with school community and parents Ability to multi-task, problem solve and remain calm and professional in potentially stressful situations Physical requirements Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time Be able to bend, stoop, reach and lift (<20 lbs.) Ability to travel frequently within the district Reports to: Director of Special Education Opening is for the 2024-2025 school year 190 day contract
