POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our LPS Family! The LPS Access Team is a multi-disciplinary team of special educators and related service providers who support students across the district with coaching, consulting, assessment and direct support of students as needed. We are looking to add a special education teacher to provide direct instruction to students who are receiving Interim Education Services. This could include supporting students or teams in the school setting and academic assessments.
This professional will be skilled and experienced in delivering specialized instruction in math, reading and writing as well as other academic content areas. Instructional models include individual and/or small group instruction with strong collaboration across the district with other special education and general education staff.
In addition to these instructional responsibilities, this professional will be a strong collaborator with classroom instructors, case managers and other team members to ensure the appropriate implementation of student services and accommodations. They will demonstrate the ability to carefully monitor student growth, collect data and contribute to IEPs. This position requires experience with effective engagement strategies and positive behavior supports, flexibility and the ability to support a wide range of student learning needs.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Successful applicants must be properly licensed for assignment as a Professional Educator according to the Colorado Department of Education.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: (Annual salary schedule based on 1.0 FTE)
WORK YEAR: 187 contract days (district educator calendar)
