      Description

      ACES is seeking a dynamic Special Education Teachers committed to social justice and making a positive impact on youth at risk who have experienced difficult circumstances.

      Located in Hartford and Hamden, Connecticut, the REGIONS (Rentry, Goal Oriented, and Opportunity to Nurture Success) program's mission is focused on the education of students at risk. Teachers in this program must have the ability and be committed to re-engaging youth at risk with an eye on social justice. The program is highly collaborative and involves working with community partners to create opportunities for students to engage in social emotional learning, credit attainment and career readiness.

      Qualifications


      Prior experience working with high school students at risk desired. Connecticut teacher certification, Comprehensive Special Education (165) K-12 required. Will consider candidates who are currently enrolled in a Special Education Teacher preparation program and are eligible for a Durational Shortage Area Permit (DSAP).
