Position Objective: Support the Museum’s mission by being a positive and proactive member of the Special Events Team, providing exemplary customer service to Museum guests and patrons at Family Fundraising and Adult AfterHours events. This position would be ideal for candidates looking for a secondary source of income.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all event attendees by anticipating guest needs and being knowledgeable about the Museum facility, policies, exhibits, and events.
• Support the set-up of events including but not limited to tables and chairs, assisting with decorations as needed and providing entrance into Museum facilities for volunteers and vendors.
• Maintain a warm, friendly, safe Museum environment while, checking in ticketholders, monitoring Museum exhibits and spaces, ensuring that NC ABC Laws, Durham County smoking ordinance, COVID safety requirements and applicable Museum policies are maintained and enforced.
• Support the clean-up of events, including but not limited to removing trash and recycling, resetting exhibits, breaking down tables and chairs, ensuring guests and vendors leave the facility as they found it and with all belongings.
• Follow Museum procedures for emergencies by assisting the Emergency Coordinator and other Museum staff in emergency situations as directed.
• Take direction from and support the Special Events Team staff with other duties as needed.

Actual Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
