*prorated based on FTE and contract lengthContract Date: 09/01/2025 - 6/30/2029 The Highline Public Schools Student Learning is seeking a Central Office Specialist - MTSS to join our team of educators for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year!
SUMMARY: The Central Office Specialist is an accomplished teacher who serves in a leadership role at the system level. A specialist provides expert consultation through facilitating collaboration instructional coaching and serving as a system leader across a variety of roles. The Central Office Specialist sees their ongoing learning and development as essential to achieve equitable results for all students. The MTSS Specialist will assist with establishing and implementing evidence-based strategies and systems that will help schools achieve important outcomes for students. In collaboration with principals the district implementation team DMIT and other stakeholders this position supports the goal of providing an equitable learning environment and improving student achievement through encouraging system-wide and local school initiatives to increase student learning. They will assist with the development of a systematic school-wide approach to MTSS specific to tier 2 and 3 and collaborate with school staff to provide direct intervention and progress monitoring for students who need support in academics. Activities may include coordinating classroom intervention programs providing curriculum and instructional support to teachers including effective intervention strategies and implementing specialized services to meet the needs of each and every student. This position requires experience and knowledge of researched based strategies that will impact the academic growth and progress of students using implemented strategies and systems. The MTSS Specialist will support schools with the collection and analysis of student level academic data . The MTSS Specialist will serve as a vital bridge between general education and special education services ensuring a seamless and integrated approach to student support. This role will collaborate closely with the special education department to align RTI processes with special education identification procedures. The MTSS Specialist will work with other specialists the digital transformation team and the Student Learning department to enhance and improve Tier 1 2 and 3 instruction.
