  Role purpose

  • The H Band Specialist Data Analytics role is based in the Network Performance Intelligence department within Vodacom Technology’s Africa Service Operations Centre (ASOC)
    
  • This role exists at the intersection of network performance statistics, business and software automation. The primary goal of this position is to ensure we deliver a world-class network to our customers by discovering actionable patterns in data and using that to support to our internal and external stakeholders in driving operational efficiency across our network.
  • We deliver in an Agile way and embrace latest innovation and robotic process automation to ensure we deliver on the frontlines of disruptive technologies.

  Your responsibilities will include

  • Ensuring end-to-end reporting of Radio Access Network (RAN) network performance from various sources, as well as drive continual improvement thereof.
  • Support and development towards Management, Engineering and Operational teams to drive up network quality.
  • Support our development strategy of build-once and deploy many times across our partner markets.
  • Use automation in our deliverables wherever possible.
  • Help us progress from Descriptive & Diagnostic Analytics to Predictive & Prescriptive Analytics.
  • Technical support for external teams on cross-functional network performance projects.
  • Work closely with database operational support teams to ensure smooth operation of our systems.
  • Utilise database summary tables to facilitate faster reporting views.
  • Develop and maintain Cognos packages and frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards.
  • Compile ad hoc network performance presentations for Senior Executives as required.
  • Ensure accurate and timeous network reporting - aligned throughout all partner markets.

  The ideal candidate for this role willl have

  • 3-year Degree or Diploma in either Information Systems, Mathematical Statistics, Data Science, Mechatronics or Electronic Engineering
  • 3 years relevant telecommunications network performance experience
  • SQL – essential
  • Relational Database experience (this role uses Oracle database systems extensively)

  HIGHLY DESIREABLE / ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE

  • IBM COGNOS REPORT STUDIO
  • MICROSOFT POWER BI
  • AWS or GOOGLE CLOUD
  • MICROSOFT POWER AUTOMATE or FLOW
  • PYTHON
  • COMPUTER PROGRAMMING
