- Support numerous test events which include but are not limited to flight test, environmental qualification and stress screening and software-in-the-loop testing.
- Assist the technical writing team to create and update documentation related to technical manuals and processes
- Interface with many customer groups across several programs
- Maintain professional relationships with internal and external groups by working to achieve operational targets as well as departmental goals
- Develop detailed flight test plans and reports
- Support hands on field engineering efforts
- Coordinate, support and lead test events
- Recommend software and hardware modifications for future improvement
- Help develop and update technical manuals as a subject matter expert
- Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Up to 50% travel may be required
- Other duties as required
- Active Secret DoD clearance with current 5 year update
- Associates degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math and 6 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Flight Test experience on all aspects of the systems including operation, technical details, mission planning and execution and operating simulators.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math or related field and/or equivalent experience desired
- Some mechanical background with experience using basic tools
- Private Pilot License / FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Experience with Group 2 or 3 UAVs
- FAA Class III Medical Certificate
- Operate under general oversight, with excellent customer interaction skills.
- Experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.

Job Description:
As a Flight Test Engineer you will plan and support test events, demonstration events and customer operations. This position requires a diverse skillset, tasks will typically include providing subject matter expertise, writing test plans, test preparation/planning, event coordination, troubleshooting, customer interface, and event management. In addition, you will be involved with FVR-90 flight operations as an Air Vehicle Operator (AVO), Sensor Operator (SO) and Crew Chief (CC).
The Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division is a part of L3Harris’ Agile Development Group and specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.
