      Job overview and responsibilities

      A day in the life of a United Airlines Line Check Specialist is dynamic and multi-faceted. The Line Check Evaluation is an FAA approved segment of United Airlines Inflight Services Training - Advanced Qualification Program (AQP), Continuing Qualification (CQ) training. Line Check Evaluations are conducted by qualified line-check evaluators. They assess flight attendants’ ability to demonstrate knowledge, cognitive skills, motor skills, and CRM skills appropriate to fulfilling job requirements in line operations environment. The evaluator also provides feedback to flight attendants on their performance. Additional evaluation and instruction of all Inflight Services training programs are also conducted by individuals in this role to help meet United's operational needs while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Demonstrate our core4 standards (Safe, Caring, Dependable and Efficient) while delivering regulatory and service training curricula with lesson plans approved by the FAA and/or United
      • Serve as onboard Safety and Service flight attendant mentor by completing AQP Announced, Unannounced, and Developing U Line Check Evaluations in conjunction with Service Line check evaluations, to include pre-and post-evaluation administrative activities.
      • Deliver AQP and IOTM curricula training.
      • Perform duties of a flight attendant through active flying.
      • Other tasks as directed by Inflight Services leadership.
      • Evaluate trainee/flight attendant performance in line with FAA and United standards
      • Ensure United core4 standards policy and procedure compliance is met

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • High school diploma
      • Required to attend and successfully complete United's flight attendant training to earn FAA certification if not currently qualified. Obtaining and maintaining flight qualifications is an essential function of the job. Failure to obtain and maintain flight qualifications may result in termination.
      • Willingness to align with flight attendant tattoo guidelines. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, neck, or hands, including behind the ear
      • Ability to optimally complete United Airlines Inflight Training instructor program qualification
      • Teaching/facilitating/training experience
      • Excellent ability to navigate content utilizing electronic device and learn flight attendant regulatory and service content contained in electronic device (LINK)—Electronic Flight Attendant Manual (eFAOM), Inflight Policies and Procedures Manual (IPPM), Content App, etc.
      • Able to work both independently and in a team environment
      • Dedication to treating others with dignity and respect
      • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to constantly changing work environment
      • Proven conflict resolution and decision-making capability
      • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Able to work both independently and in a team environment
      • Commitment to Working Together Guidelines and treating each other with dignity and respect
      • Ability to complete instructor qualification training and ongoing qualification maintenance requirements
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
      • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
      • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree
      • Management experience
      • AQP-qualified instructor/evaluator
      • Working knowledge of CFR Part 121 regulations, Advanced Qualification Programs, the Aircraft Operators Standard Security Program, and United flight attendant responsibilities and procedures
      • Experience with public speaking to small and large groups
