      About our team/Mō te tīma

      The Marketing Services Department is made up of five teams:

      • Future Students Marketing (including the Specialist role) manages and delivers marketing activities to recruit students;
      • Divisional Marketing Advisors champion the needs of our academics’ subject areas;
      • The Web Experience team owns the University website and other digital applications;
      • An in-house Creative team leads how our brand is presented;
      • An Events team delivers a wide range of events for students, academics, and alumni.

      While each area has its own responsibility to provide expert advice and initiatives to attract students and raise the profile of the University, there will be a large amount of collaboration at a project level.

      The Marketing Services Department has an exciting year ahead, with core projects including our brand launch, full web transformation, and lofty recruitment goals.

      The role/Te mahi

      Marketing Specialists play a senior role within the Future Students Marketing team.

      Strong collaboration, communication and negotiation skills are imperative to your success in this role. You will work closely with colleagues across Marketing Services and the wider External Engagement Division. The expertise we provide to the university is wide-reaching and ensures you would work on an exciting range of projects.

      An important part of your role will be working alongside agency partners to develop strategic approaches to media and campaign creative. You will need to manage budgets, delivery expectations and communication between agencies and University leadership.

      In line with the University’s Pae Tata strategy, you will be supported to continue upskilling in te reo me ngā tikanga Māori.

      Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

      We are looking for an experienced marketing professional with the following:

      • 5+ years of experience in delivering marketing campaigns and projects for complex organisations with multiple stakeholders.
      • Experience working in a variety of channels to deliver integrated campaigns, including digital, social, and content creators.
      • Strategic marketing.
      • Communication, teamwork, and collaboration.
      • Project management and multi-tasking.
      • Expertise in consumer research, data analysis, CRM systems, lead generation and customer management.
      • Central to our strategy is becoming a Te Tiriti-led University. Knowledge of markets, marketing relationships, and networks specific to Māori and/or Pacific audiences is an advantage.

      This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term role covering an internal secondment until 20 September 2024.
