      Base: Cygnet Bury Forestwood - Buller Street, off Bolton Road, Bury, BL8 2BS Are you a Band 5 ready for your next challenge or an emerging Band 6 looking for a change? Cygnet Bury Forestwood offers CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, General Acute and Low Secure services across four wards which provide a defined treatment pathway from admission through to intervention and discharge including rapid assessment and treatment.

      Main duties of the job

      At Cygnet Healthcare, we have a strong occupational focus through support and direction from Clinical Leads and our Occupational Therapy Directors. We use evidence-based practice within each of our service lines, as defined by our clinical steering groups, of which Occupational Therapists play a key role. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work as an autonomous clinician, providing specialist assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction. You will hold supervisory responsibility for others, and take a leadership role in specific projects. An integral part of this role will be supporting student education within the team. This role includes opportunities for learning, development and research, supported by a robust appraisal and supervision structure based on RCOTs Career Development Framework.

      Cygnet Hospital Bury

      Cygnet Hospital Bury is now operating as three separately registered hospitals, Cygnet Bury Dunes, Cygnet Bury and Cygnet Forestwood.

      Cygnet Bury Forestwood offers CAMHS Tier 4 PICU, General Acute and Low Secure services across four wards, which provide a defined treatment pathway from admission through to intervention and discharge including rapid assessment and treatment.

      Each young person has a bedroom with en suite facilities and a range of communal spaces including a gym, laundry, occupational therapy kitchen, therapy garden and woodland walkways down to the Elton Reservoir.

      In addition there is a diverse educational programme teaching a range of subjects available at the on-site school, Forestwood School, which is registered with the Department for Education.

      Clinical: You would be responsible for the assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction for 12 young people. The clinical role would focus on one ward within the hospital. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team in a coordinated way to support each young person develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge.

      Leadership: You would report directly to the Head Occupational Therapist for Forestwood Hospital within Cygnet Bury, in the CAMHS Service Line. You would also hold leadership and management responsibilities of the Occupational Therapy service of your allocated ward providing clinical and managerial supervision for an Occupational Therapy Assistant and / or a newly qualified Occupational Therapist and clinical support for an Activity Coordinator. You will be required to share a leadership responsibility and consistently contribute to the hospital wide Occupational Therapy provision across the 4 wards within Forestwood Hospital. You may also be required at times to deputise for the Head Occupational Therapist.

      Our secure services at Cygnet Forestwood Hospital, Bury are therapy and recovery focused, providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for young people of all genders. The aim is to effectively progress young people though the CAMHS pathway, into the least restrictive environment possible while working to reduce the possibility of readmission back into Tier 4 services.

      Occupational Therapy Directorate

      Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups and become involved in service development.

      Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

      We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
