ABOUT HILLSIDE:
Our Hillside Aluminium smelter in Richards Bay produces high-quality, primary aluminium for the domestic and export markets.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As a Specialist Purchasing you will be responsible to provide specialist advice and execute major and minor capital purchasing and contracting services; ensuring effective resource utilization; meeting operational capital procurement and sourcing procurement needs, in a timely and effective manner, adhering to defined policies and procedures.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
• Ensure capital procurement and sourcing needs are met in a timely and effective manner in accordance with South32 policies, procedures and statutory requirements;• Create and maintain accurate Request for Quotations (RFQs) ensuring timely responses from vendors;• Negotiate pricing to ensure value for money paid taking a “total cost of ownership” approach;• Where required, draft commercial contracts for the procurement of capital goods and services;• Convert approved material Purchase Requisitions manually into POs;• Ensure all purchase order adjustments are carried out in accordance with South32 Supply processes and procedures and immediately report all non-compliant transactions to the Lead Purchasing for appropriate follow-up action;• Continually seek opportunities to improve the overall efficiency of the Purchasing sub-function.ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
• Relevant professional experience in Purchasing or Sourcing or Engineering Project Management or Finance is essential;• 3 years and more experience in Purchasing or Sourcing or Engineering Projects or Finance is essential;• Understanding of financial and business concepts to analyse and maximize commercial outcomes will be essential;• Procure to pay understanding is advantageous;• Knowledge of SAP Materials Management is advantageous;• Mining & Metals experience will be advantageous;• Experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment will be advantageous.•Qualifications for this role are:
