      Job summary

      We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with well established dysphagia and voice skills to join our friendly and supportive Adult Speech and Language Therapy team. This is a temporary post (12 months) to cover maternity leave, with potential for permanent hours long-term. This is a mixed role which will involve working at Harrogate Hospital covering acute wards, and covering outpatient voice clinics.

Supported by a team of Band 8, Band 7, Band 6's, SLT Assistants and the wider MDT, the post holder will have the opportunity to demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills working across adult inpatient wards and voice outpatient settings with an adult caseload. You will also gain exposure and access to our weekly instrumental assessment services, including Videofluoroscopy and FEES.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will provide a comprehensive clinical service for inpatients and outpatients within the Harrogate and District area. The role will involve ward cover and voice outpatient clinics.

      The successful candidate will have knowledge, skills and experience of working with both dysphagia, communication and voice patients across a variety of settings.

      To work as part of inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary teams to maximize the rehabilitation potential of patients. To deliver education and training to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals.
