      Job summary

      We are looking to recruit an experienced, self-motivating, enthusiastic and organised Speech and Language Therapist to join our well established Denbighshire Flying Start and Families First Services in the Central Area BCUHB. It is a permanent post for 34 hours a week.

      Denbighshire Flying Start is a programme funded by Welsh Government to support children aged 0-4yrs to have the best start in life and reach their full potential. Families First work with families to provide coordinated support to families in difficult times.

      Within the Flying Start role you will be a member of the MDT (e.g Health Visitors, Midwives, EY practitioners etc) working to provide a speech and language therapy service for clients within the Flying Start area. In addition, you will be required to contribute to data collection, service evaluation, training and development. You will also work closely with the core Central BCUHB Speech and Language Therapy team, who provide professional support and supervision.

      The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative with a commitment to providing child centred care, and have a background in Paediatric Speech and Language therapy. Experience of working within multiagency teams will be an advantage, as will experience of providing training to other professional and service users.

      Main duties of the job

      • You will work with Team Leaders and colleagues to ensure equity, efficiency and dynamic service delivery.
      • You will have the opportunity to work directly with children as well as provide training, advice and support to families, nursery/school staff and the wider workforce.
      • You will work in partnership with families and professionals to support the needs of the population in line with the national Flying Start guidance and targets
      • You will be involved in projects to develop the Universal and Targeted levels of provision within the Flying Start and Families First services.
      • You will offer support to colleagues and partner agencies to develop knowledge and skills in working with children with speech and language disorders.

      The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
