- Support with scheduling meetings, meeting agendas, and note taking including tracking action items and follow-ups.
- Support the conceptualization of programs that encourage students, families, teens, and youth to feel a sense of welcome and belonging at the Museum and allow them to develop skills and explore their own creative processes. Support may include researching, developing runs-of-shows, prototyping activities, and authoring activity guides.
- Lead the teaching of select onsite school and youth programs which may include school programs, teen activities, family weekend drop-in activities, teacher programs, and other education programs as needed.
- Provide onsite support for school and teacher programming including school tours, interactive workshops, student film screenings, and teacher programs and engage with students of all grade levels
- Coordinate office processes including ordering supplies, budget tracking, processing invoices, and maintaining organized files.
- Work collaboratively across museum departments to ensure effective and efficient communication and processes.
- Support partnerships with community organizations and local youth-servicing non-profits in Los Angeles to further build a network of learning opportunities for youth in the community; support in building relationships with local schools and teachers
- Track evaluation and anecdotal reflections of youth programs and school programs
- Support programs on an as-needed basis.
Reporting to the Manager of Youth Programs & Manager of School and Teacher Programs, the Specialist will provide programmatic and logistical support in addition to researching, teaching, and facilitation responsibilities of select youth & school programs. Primary responsibilities include logistical support of programs, scheduling, keeping files and communication organized, along with ordering and tracking against budgets, and additional support as needed.
