      Overview

      Position Summary:

      The Specialty Director of Operations is responsible for the strategic planning, operational oversight, and performance optimization of all specialty dental services within the organization. This leader ensures specialty services are integrated smoothly into general dental practices, meet clinical and regulatory standards, and achieve financial targets. The role requires close collaboration with clinical providers, operations leaders, and support staff to enhance patient experience and specialty service growth.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Operational Leadership
        • Oversee day-to-day operations for specialty departments (e.g. perio, endodontics, oral surgery).
        • Ensure consistent, efficient workflows and best practices across all specialties.
        • Optimize provider schedules and clinic utilization to maximize productivity.
      • Strategic Planning & Growth
        • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to grow specialty services.
        • Analyze market trends and patient demand to expand or launch specialty offerings.
        • Collaborate with marketing to promote specialty services and increase case acceptance.
        • Foster a culture of collaboration between general dentistry and specialty teams.
      • Financial Oversight
        • Monitor budgets, revenue, and profitability of specialty services.
        • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
      • Cross-Functional Collaboration
        • Partner with IT, HR, Marketing, and Finance departments to support specialty operations.
        • Act as a liaison between executive leadership and specialty teams.

      Qualifications:

      Experience:

      • Must live in Northern CA
      • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in multi-site dental or healthcare operations (preferably in the Dental Industry).
      • Experience managing specialty or dental services highly preferred.
      • Strong knowledge of dental workflows.
      • Proven track record of year-over-year growth.
      • Ability to forecast and analyze business trends to maximize territory performance and profitability.

      Skills:

      • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
      • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
      • Ability to drive change and foster team alignment in a fast-paced environment.
      • Financial acumen and ability to manage P&L performance.

      Working Conditions:

      • Travel to affiliated practices and regional offices required.
      • May involve evening or weekend hours as needed for operational support.
