EPUT is seeking to appoint two compassionate and dedicated Specialty Doctor in General Adult to join our dynamic mental health team at the Colchester Specialist CMHT based at Herrick house, Colchester. There are two vacancies available to apply. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced consultants in delivering high quality psychiatric care across community in the North East Essex area.
Main duties of the job
This Specialist CMHT provides community mental services for patient referred to the secondary mental health by GP surgeries within the Neighbourhood teams in and around Colchester. This team serves approximately 67,000 people in this area. The Colchester team has a total of 4 Consultants who jointly support the team dividing the catchment via GP practices that overlap with PCN footprint. The MDT includes CPNS, Occupational therapists, social workers and psychologists.
You should be eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983. You will also need to provide evidence of achievement of ST1/CT1 competences in psychiatry at time of application and likelihood of achieving CT2 competences in psychiatry by the start date of the post.

Attend Allocations meeting as required.
Carry out home visits.
Attend to urgent clinical issues for patients.
Administrative work related to these activities.
Supervise and support Trainee Doctors if appropriate.
Work closely with primary care nurses (PCN workers).
Work with Multidisciplinary team.
