      We are seeking a committed and motivated Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry to join our dynamic mental health team at HMP Bronzefield, the largest women's prison in Europe. This is an opportunity to deliver meaningful care in a unique setting--supporting some of the most vulnerable individuals in society.

      About the Role

      As the Specialty Doctor, you will play a vital role in the delivery of psychiatric care within the prison. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, diagnose, and manage a variety of mental health conditions. The role offers rich clinical variety and professional challenge in a secure setting where your input will be valued and impactful.

      Experience in forensic or prison psychiatry is welcome but not essential we support development and learning.

      Main duties of the job

      o Assessment (including the assessment of risk), treatment, care planning and multiagency liaison for people with mental health problems in the prisons.

      o CPA management of care.

      o Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments.

      o Contribute to planned emergency interventions.

      o Liaison with prisons, courts, statutory and non-statutory agencies, concerning all aspects of the mental health care management of men with mental health problems in the prisons.

      o Assessment and recommendation under the 2007 (Revised) Mental Health Act (the post holder must maintain Section 12 approval).

      o To work closely with the Manager, Psychologists and other lead professionals to provide clinical leadership and ensure safe, supportive care.

      o To liaise closely with other medical, clinical and managerial staff to provide high quality care pathways.

      o Participation, when relevant, in the ACCT (self-harm / suicide prevention) processes.

      o Practice in accordance with NICE and other relevant Guidelines and CNWL Trust policy.

      o Accurate record keeping according to Trust and professional guidelines (data protection legislation and information governance standards).
