      We are seeking a Specialty Doctor in General Adult Community.

      Main duties of the job

      HPFT is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor to join a high performing and welcoming community team in the North West quadrant of Hertfordshire. The post will be based in Hemel Hempstead, covering the Dacorum district.

      The successful candidate will provide medical psychiatric input for adults who have been referred to HPFT for community based psychiatric care. The post is supported by a multi-disciplinary team. Further details are available in the job descriptions.

      Qualifications

      Essential

      • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
      • Fully registered medical practitioner with the General Medical Council (GMC). Possession of a current License to Practice.
      • Section 12 approval (or eligibility for Section 12 approval).

      Desirable

      • MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
      • A diploma in Psychiatry or MRCPsych or equivalent.
      • Interest in working towards AC status.

      Clincal Skills, Knowledge and Experience

      Essential

      • A minimum of 4 years' experience in General Adult Psychiatry with at least two years in an approved training scheme.
      • Experience of working in community settings in General Adult Psychiatry
      • Ability to work well in Multidisciplinary teams.
      • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
      • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
      • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.

      Desirable

      • Clinical experience in a range of services within General Adult Psychiatry.

      Academic Skills and Lifelong Learning

      Essential

      • Participated in continuous professional development
      • Able to use and appraise clinical evidence.
      • Has actively participated in clinical audit.
