      Overview

      As the Specialty Programs Administrator you will be responsible for maintaining applications related to Manitoba Public Insurance’s (MPI) specialty programs. You will review applications and ensure information is inputted and updated accurately and efficiently into the appropriate systems to meet established service standards. The position receives information via facsimile, website, mail, and email then processes the requests and transactions according to established policies and procedures. You will respond to customer and partner enquiries regarding Specialty Programs and responds to enquiries from government agencies and stakeholders.

      Responsibilities

      • Reviews inputs and processes applications for the Government of Manitoba’s Electric Vehicle Rebate Program and Dealer applications for Manitoba’s Winter Tire Program.
      • Prepares letters for new program applicants approving, denying, or requesting additional information related to their application.
      • Contacts customers directly to clarify application information, corrects, and resubmits applications, as necessary.
      • Reviews, audits, and reports application statuses and program performance.
      • Program reporting to MPI management on program status, application statistics, customer service issues, etc.
      • Reports possible fraudulent applications to immediate supervisor.
      • Acts as a first point of contact for dealers and retailers inquiring about specialty programs.
      • Provides courteous and professional service responding to internal and external customer inquiries about specialty programs.
      • Works to resolve program issues related to customer applications including missing documents, improper information, and customer complaints.
      • Responds fully and appropriately by telephone, fax, and email to all customer enquiries.
      • Resolves customer concerns and identifies opportunities to improve departmental procedures and processes.
      • Maintains a filing system for the storage and record of applications.

      Qualifications

      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Two years of practical experience in an office environment.
      • Communication skills to present information effectively to various audiences.
      • Works as part of a team.
      • Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
      • Knowledge of the Manitoba Public Insurance Act and Regulations, the Highway Traffic Act, the Criminal Code of Canada, Youth Criminal Justice Act, Drivers and Vehicles Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Personal Health Information Act and the Family Maintenance Act and related regulations.
      • Works with accuracy and attention to detail.
