- To be part of a Link Therapy Team delivering the principles of Balanced System to a cohort of primary &secondary schools.
- To jointly manage a caseload of schools/children as part of the Link Therapy Team.
- To deliver evidence-based SLT advice, training and interventions for schools and children.
- To assess, plan and implement universal, targeted and specialist SLT interventions that support children witha range of speech, language and communication needs.
- To develop integrated care plans in partnership with the school, child, young person and / or familyrecommending and supporting interventions that are appropriate at a universal, targeted and specialist level.
- To participate in clinical supervision and access on-going CPD to deliver a safe and effective service toschools.
- To actively work as a member of a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide high quality advice,training and interventions to schools, children and young people and their parents/carers in line with our carepathways and the Balanced System
- Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant Professional body ( HCPC)
- Degree in a health relevant subject or willingness to complete a degree (within 3 years of appointment)
- Experience of recent community healthcare gained through education or work experience placement or previous employment
- Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS
- Knowledge of up to date clinical practice
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to organise own work Ability to cope with change Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to motivate and organise others to ensure best practice. Ability to work under pressure Flexible and adaptable
- Able to support the implementation of local and national agenda's for health under the guidance of the team lead / ward manager. Ability to prioritise care delivery in a professional manner, taking into account Trust policies and procedures.

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Schools Team in EastKent.
You will be joining the team to support us to establish and develop the Balanced System with our primary and secondary schools across East Kent. The successful applicant will work alongside experienced Speech andLanguage Therapists, Education Specialists, SLT assistants and network of clinical leads to deliver universal,targeted and specialist support to schools and children with speech, language and communication needs(SLCN).
We offer a strong support network including good access to CPD and supervision.
The Children's Therapies Team is an integrated therapies team providing Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Specialist Nurse Advisors and Care Co-ordinators to children 0 - 19years within KCHFT. We work closely with colleagues from other health, education and social care teams toprovide an integrated team around the child approach.
