      Job summary

      We have an exciting permanent, 3 day (22.5hour) opportunity for a new member to join our Speech & Language Therapy team at the Colman Centre for Specialist Rehabilitation Services as a Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (starting in September 2025 ).

      We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and creative Speech & Language Therapy Assistant to join our friendly team and advocate for our patients. You will be joining an experienced and supportive team striving to meet the swallowing and communication needs of both in-patients and out-patients with highly complex profiles.

      The SLT assistant will work as part of the multidisciplinary team providing support to speech and language therapists by carrying outindividual programmes of care for adult patients under the Colman Centre. They will work both alongside the therapists or alone (but under the therapist's direction). This will involve lone working inthe community across Norfolk.They willwork under the supervision of SLT to undertake a variety of clinical and non-clinical duties to support the delivery of the service. This will include administrative support for patient related activity and shared responsibility of indirect patient contact tasks.

      Main duties of the job

      To assist the speech and language therapists on a daily basis in supporting patients with complex swallowing and or communicationdifficulties under the direction/guidance of clinicians. This includes on the ward, in outpatient clinics and in the community.

      • Literacy and numeracy up to GCSE pass or equivalent.
      • NVQ Level 2 or 3

      Experience

      • Comprehensive experience of working in a healthcare setting or equivalent
      • Experience working independently with people with physical and/or emotional needs arising from long term health conditions or equivalent
      • Experience undertaking administration duties

      Desirable

      • Experience of working as a Therapy or Nursing Assistant/rehab technician
