      Job summary

      A fabulous opportunity has arisen to work in our award winning team. The North Childrens Speech & language therapy service is part of the MPFTand provides a service to North Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent, Stafford, surrounding areas. We also provide services to the University Hospital of North Midlands, as well as to a range of other commissioners in educational /care settings.

      We have an opportunity to recruit to 1 full time permanent Band 4 position.The service is needs lead and is able to offer you:

      Main duties of the job

      • Be competent as appropriate to the requirements of the role.
      • Demonstrate at all times the Partnership Trust Values.
      • Be a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Practitioner (AP) and have an understanding of the knowledge and skills required for the role.
      • They will have a focus on children with speech, language and communication delay and disorder.
      • Be responsible, under the guidance of a registered practitioner, for a defined population of service users in a variety of settings across the Partnership Trust including homes, schools and clinics.
      • Be skilled in supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of care/support packages under the direction of a registered practitioner.
      • Have supervisory responsibilities as required (e.g. work allocation) and contribute to service.
      • Higher apprenticeship level 5 /Foundation Degree in related subject/ assistant practitioner qualification or equivalent.
      • Evidence of/willing to undertake training relevant to the post.
