      Position Description

      SUMMARY: Working in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents and students, shall be responsible
      for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language and hearing disorders helping students
      to adjust and access the general education curriculum.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      1. Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance

      2. Provides speech and language therapy to students.

      3. Evaluates students using appropriate diagnostic instruments; interprets test results.

      4. Develops eligibility and evaluation reports

      5. Develops Individualized Education Plans(IEP) according to local, state, and federal guidelines.

      6. Conducts IEP meetings and conveys results and recommendations for educational programming to parents/guardians.

      7. Confers with parents and teachers; reviews student folders, previous evaluations and related documents in order to develop and implement appropriate educational plans for students and facilitate carryover of learned skills.

      8. Submits computerized Medicaid billing for reimbursement.

      9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree or Higher, preferably in speech language pathology or related field.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in speech language pathology preferred. Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in speech and language pathology at level T-5 or above required.

      Employee must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function of the position.
