  Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  Valid New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist Certificate
  Valid New Jersey license to practice Speech-Language Pathology (as required by NJDOE and NJ Division of Consumer Affairs)
  Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
  Successful completion of required criminal history review background check and sexual misconduct/child abuse disclosure process
  Proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
  Experience providing speech and language services to children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting
  Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and develop detailed reports
  Proficiency in planning and delivering individualized and group therapy sessions
  Knowledge of current best practices, intervention strategies, and assistive technology in speech-language pathology

  Job Goal:
  The Speech-Language Specialist identifies and supports students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders that affect educational performance. As a member of the Child Study Team, the specialist works collaboratively with educators, students, and families to promote effective communication skills essential for academic and social success. The specialist provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services, ensuring that each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals are met in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  
  Qualifications:
  Education:
