      POSITION TITLE: SPICE Worker

      FLSA: Non-Exempt - Hourly

      REPORTS TO: SPICE Director

      TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly work with weekly timesheet

      SCHEDULE: 2:45 PM – 6:00 PM daily in conjunction with the school calendar

      LOCATION: District wide at elementary campuses

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Must have patience with children.
      • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
      • Experience working with children, especially in a school or childcare setting.
      • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
      • Patience, empathy, and a genuine concern for the well-being of students.

      ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

      • Supervise students during recess and other outdoor activities.
      • Monitor students after school, ensuring their safety and well-being.
      • Enforce school rules and guidelines to maintain a secure and respectful environment.
      • Address any behavioral issues or conflicts among students promptly.
      • Promote positive play, intervene in disputes, and ensure adherence to safety rules.
      • Monitor and report any potential hazards on the playground or outdoor areas.
      • Assist in the supervision of students during SPICE hours after school.
      • Ensure order and cleanliness in the cafeteria, promoting good manners and appropriate behavior.
      • Aid students as needed.
      • Respond to the needs of individual students, including helping with clothing, resolving minor disputes, or providing general assistance.
      • Collaborate with other staff and the director to address specific student concerns.
      • Be familiar with and follow emergency procedures, including responding to injuries or medical situations.
      • Assist in the orderly evacuation of students during emergency drills or actual incidents.
      • Maintain open communication with teachers, administrators, and other staff.
      • Report incidents, accidents, or notable occurrences to the appropriate personnel.
      • Keep accurate records of incidents, interventions, and other relevant information.
      • Submit reports to the supervisor or director as required.
      • Maintains prompt and regular attendance
      • Maintain emotional control under stress.
      • Maintain confidentiality.
      • Present and communicate in a professional manner.
      • Attend training as required.
      • Other duties as assigned.
