      Job Title: Sports Marketing Project Coordinator

      Department: Marketing

      FLSA: Exempt

      General Function

      The Sports Marketing Project Coordinator will help with guidance and oversight of marketing and advertising strategy for the Local Marketing Coordinators. They will effectively communicate strategy, objectives and goals of corporate initiatives to ensure local markets are aware and aligned.

      This position will also assist with coordinating the execution of marketing tactics including email, web, mobile, social, print, store materials and more. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of delivering creative ideas and show strong attention to detail. To be successful in this position, the Sports Marketing Coordinator must have strong communication skills, organizational skills, and project management abilities.

      Reporting Relations

      Accountable and Reports to: Vice President, Sports Marketing

      Direct Reports: None

      Primary Duties and Responsibilities

      • Guide and assist the sports marketing team with marketing and advertising strategy.
      • Effectively communicate strategy, objectives and goals of corporate initiatives to ensure the stores are aware and aligned.
      • Report on effectiveness and outcomes of promotions and campaigns.
      • Negotiate and assist sports marketing coordinators with local and paid media placement.
      • Assist the team in a variety of marketing activities and project management to support marketing objectives.
      • Coordinate agency and design resources to drive execution of marketing tactics.
      • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technology, digital marketing best practices.
      • Research competition, investigate benchmarks, and provide suggestions for improvement.
      • Effectively communicate strategies and performance to stakeholders.

      Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

      • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

      Education and Experience

      Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related area, or equivalent work experience preferred. Proficiency with traditional marketing, including radio, television, newspaper, direct mail, out of home, and event marketing preferred. At least one year of similar or related work experience preferred.

      Equipment Used to Perform Job

      Standard office equipment including telephone, copier, fax, PC/Mac with word processing and spreadsheet software.

      Physical Requirements

      • Must be able to physically perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
      • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

      • Must be able to report, write, or edit articles for publication; interview, counsel or advise people; and evaluate technical data.
      • Ability to interact with basic computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheet and email applications, as well as job-specific programs.

      Working Conditions

      The duties for this position are normally conducted in an office environment. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.

      Has daily contact with stores, suppliers/vendors, and the general public.

      Has access to confidential information including knowledge of advertising rates, pricing information, and store sales.
