Federal Work Study - Direct Placement Program:
Are you looking for a way to get involved and earn money at the same time?
Look no further! The Federal Work Study Direct Placement program offers you a guaranteed employment opportunity where you can earn your work study money while gaining skills that can be helpful for your future. The best part is the process is quick and easy.
This program is specifically geared towards students who have work study for Academic Year 2023-2024 and offers a part-time employment opportunity for the school year. All of our employment opportunities are either UW-Madison Off Campus Work Study Partners or UW Departments that are focused on enhancing your connection to campus and supporting your experience as a UW student.

Process & Timeline:
To participate in Work Study Direct Placement program you must have a Federal Work Study Award and you must first complete the quick Application of Interest. This application will require for you to submit a resumé.
These materials will allow for us to match you to opportunities that can best capitalize on your passions and interests. In addition, you will have the chance to review all employment opportunities offered through the program while indicating your preferences for part-time work. Once submitted, your Application of Interest will be reviewed and if employment opportunities are available one will be offered to you. Please note we cannot guarantee the employment opportunity offered will be in your top preferences.
Employment opportunities will vary throughout the Academic Year (2023-2024); new jobs will be added to the application form as they become available. Conversely, job opportunities will leave the application as the positions are filled.
All applications of interest submitted are processed on a first-come-first-serve basis, and online job offers are typically sent within 1 or 2 weeks of application submission. There will be a specified deadline to formerly accept your part-time employment offer (1 week after offer is sent). From there, the specific hiring department or employer will reach out to you personally and begin the hiring and on-boarding processes so you can begin working by the specified start date.
