      Overview

      This internship will provide experience with assisting the Premium Experience team as well as the box office with sales and service projects, Box Office management, event day operations, as well as CRM management. Intern will gain a working knowledge of client management, event day operations, Salesforce, and Paciolan ticketing system. The intern will receive training in a wide variety of areas, including Box Office operations, sales and marketing, and event-day logistics. The intern will receive valuable experience working with VIP clientele. This internship will leave the candidate prepared for a future career in the industry.

      Internship details:

      • Pay: $15 per hour
      • 15-25 hours a week, depending on event schedule.
      • Internship Dates: Spring Semester (December/January-April)
      • Location: Chartway Arena, Old Dominion University Campus

      About the Venue

      Chartway Arena is a 9,100-seat multi-purpose arena located on the campus of Old Dominion University. Operated by OVG360 since it opened in 2002, Chartway Arena is known as one of the premier mid-sized collegiate venues in the country. Chartway Arena is home to Old Dominion Monarch Men's and Women's basketball, as well as concerts, family shows and other attractions for the Hampton Roads area.       Responsibilities

      • Assist Premium team with game/event day operations and hospitality in all Premium spaces, including during ODU Basketball games and during concerts and other events. Duties include managing VIP entry program, contributing to VIP hospitality environment and troubleshooting VIP ticket problems.
      • Conduct research efforts for current and future Premium and Group sales campaigns.
      • Help develop Premium Experience Program elements and shape the future of the Program.
      • Assist with prospecting and lead development for Premium and Group sales.
      • Answer customer questions and assist with needs and requests during events
      • Learn Salesforce CRM and Paciolan Ticketing software to help with maintaining current information and processing ticket requests.
      • Assist with other Premium and Box Office duties as needed.
      • Ability and willingness to work extensive evening/weekend events.

      Qualifications

      • Must be a current college junior, senior, or graduate student (as of Spring 2024). Preferred to be seeking an internship to satisfy class credit requirement.
      • Minimum of 15 hours/week. Extensive weekend and evening work will be required.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
      • Ability to communicate with employees, customers, and venue partners in a clear, business-like and respectful manner.
      • Previous experience in a customer service-based industry is preferred.
      • Must be outgoing, creative, hard-working independent thinker who is interested in a future career in the Sports/Entertainment Sales and Hospitality industry.
