      Manufacturing Engineering supports production operations at the Simarano facility. This includes managing product documentation, troubleshooting equipment issues, performing root cause investigations into non-conforming material, and general manufacturing process support when issues arise.

      Throughout the 6-month co-op you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following:

      1. Coordinating a large-scale supplier transfer with the engineering team to qualify alternate components for several site products. This will include scoping the transfer requirements, performing engineering evaluation of drawings and physical parts, and organizing execution of the supplier transition plan.
      2. Working with the production team to design & build fixturing to help optimize medical device assemblies and perform product testing.
      3. Leading ongoing efforts to ensure data and documentation accuracy within the site’s quality and inventory management systems.

      Additional Responsibilities:

      • Organizing engineering change orders to update site manufacturing processes.
      • Writing inspection criteria and additional documentation to ensure material and product quality
      • Creating, updating, and managing CAD models & drawing templates
      • Developing & printing 3D models for fixture & component prototyping

      We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Qualifications include the following:

      • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after co-op
      • Majoring in: Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering and other related major
      • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking, independent & proactive
      • Experience with Microsoft Office (Especially Excel & Word) Adobe Acrobat Solid Works and Autodesk 3D Printing (File Creation and Equipment Usage) Ability to Learn and Understand Electro-Mechanical Systems
      • Ability to work onsite at our Simarano, MA campus. Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided.
