      About the Opportunity:

      SQL Report Writer

      Job Summary: The SQL Report Writer works in conjunction with multiple teams to develop and support organization-wide reporting. This position is responsible for end-to-end report development which may include interaction with end users to gather requirements. The SQL Report Writer is required to understand report objectives, designing, and developing reports using the available tools delivering reports to end users.

      Full-time - Monday through Friday / Remote: Candidates must reside in either Oregon or Washington state.


      About the position:

      • Assist with development of business and functional requirements for reports.
      • Design, develop, test and implement reports as necessary to fulfill business requirements.
      • Serve as a subject matter expert for reporting across the organization and assist users with reporting and analysis activities and tools, including ad hoc reporting.
      • Support user training, testing, documentation, and roll-out of reports and end-user reporting tools.
      • Maintain knowledge of business processes and understand cross-functional business relationships and their use of information.
      • Construct reusable reports based on common reporting requests using available tools.
      • Initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, managers and supervisors, customers/clients.
      • Contribute and develop insights into leveraging collected data to improve operational performance and customer experience.
      • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of data integration between operational processes, as necessary.
      • Document sources of reports and steps necessary to generate complex reports.
      • Utilize business intelligence tools to design, construct, test, and deploy self-service reports and visualizations.

      About You:

      To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

      • SQL query writing experience
      • Report management and optimization experience
      • SQL stored procedure/database management experience
      • Knowledge of SQL including creating view, tables and stored procedures for reporting purposes
      • Knowledge of SQL SSRS reporting design and structure.
      • Experience translating business questions / requirements into meaningful reports.
      • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff and outside vendors.
      • Ability to listen to end users’ needs and provide innovative and proficient reporting solutions.
      • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.

      Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year College, University or Institute with major course work in Information Systems/Technology, or commensurate experience related to the position.

      Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in SQL and Data Visualization tools (Power BI preferred). Experience in reporting needs in a healthcare environment is preferred.
