Sr Analyst – Investment Compliance & Operational Risk Management

- Correctly interpret, implement, and review/update investment compliance rules as related to applicable regulations, investment policies, and other investment documents or requirements for the assigned portfolios
- Build and test compliance rules for investment strategies supporting potential new businesses
- Monitor ongoing daily pre-trade and post-trade compliance
- Investigate and resolve compliance breaches and issues timely through proactive communication and collaboration with the relevant teams
- Provide compliance reporting to support Investment Management and RGA Corporate Reporting
- Identify and initiate enhancements to advance the compliance framework, compliance capabilities and process efficiency.
- Serve as the point person for managing investment operational issues and incidents that may occur across the Investments department
- Update and evolve the investment operational risk issue/incident repository
- Report investment operational risk issues/incidents to the Investment Department Investment Committee and RGA Global Risk as appropriate
- Recommend and implement improvements
- MBA/Master’s or Legal degree in a relevant field and 2-5 years of relevant experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5-10 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in compliance for investment management, insurance/reinsurance, or financial services industry, especially related to trading and portfolio management
- Functional or technical expertise relative to risk management
- Experience and demonstrated skills in leading and managing teams
- Candidates with para-legal work experience are encouraged to apply
- Strong working knowledge of portfolio management and fixed income, alternative, and derivative investments
- Technology savvy, programming and process improvement/automation skills
- Strong ability to interpret compliance rules and manage and maintain focus under ambiguity
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects, including the ability to reprioritize tasks as needed to deliver impactful results
- Advanced oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received
- Exceptional investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to share and impart knowledge to coach and develop team members, fostering an innovative, team-oriented working environment
- Strong persuasion and collaboration skills when working with others to resolve issues

Position OverviewThe Sr Analyst – Investment Compliance & Operational Risk Management serves as a key member of the Investment Compliance team by providing compliance support encompassing fixed income and alternative investments and derivative strategies potentially across the regions where RGA Investments operates. Additionally, the incumbent plays a critical role in helping advance investment operational risk management to ensure effective identification, monitoring and reporting of present and potential investment compliance and operational risks. To succeed in this role, the incumbent should be a quick learner and a strong self-starter with superb interpersonal skills and be tech savvy.
ResponsibilitiesProvide compliance coverage for EMEA and/or APAC in addition to North America depending on the location where this position will be successfully placed. Responsibilities include:

Partner with Head of Investment Compliance in acting as liaison between Internal Audit and Investment Department stakeholders to resolve outstanding audit actions items/tasks
