Analyze complex business problems, clarify requirements, and evaluate technology feasibility
Assist in the overall scope definition, workflow design, and facilitation of technology development
Work with your Product Owner to refine the backlog, prioritize use cases, and drive team understanding
Work closely across business and technology teams to assist with automation solutions design, development, testing & implementation
Collaborate with architects and engineers to formulate innovative automation engineering solutions
Develop maintainable, extensible, and reusable solutions to solve automation problems
Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met and our solutions are robust
Evaluate systems implementations, then redesign and refactor as needed for continuous optimization
Communicate complex concepts and results in a clear and effective manner
8 + years experience in software development, architecture and/or-cloud technologies
Experience with AWS Services, Python, Terraform, YAML, Git, PowerShell, RDBMS, NOSQL, Windows/Linux, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps and .NET C#, FAST Policy Administration System
Solid foundation with modern SDLC in technologies listed above
Good working knowledge of a variety of automation, integration, and business process management solutions
Experience being part of a fast-paced agile software development team
Desire and ability to train, mentor, and develop technical skills of more junior engineer
Experience with Financial Services and Annuities or Insurance Administration Systems preferred
Hands-on experience implementing automation solutions with AWS cloud technologies

That is why we are actively seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer II to join our Application Services team and take part in our people-first culture. This position requires someone who is forward thinking and innovative with their solutions for the business.
As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by leveraging your analytical and cloud engineering skills to solve complex problems for the CMD business. You will join a dedicated, self-organizing, cross-functional team in developing our next generation systems in the AWS cloud while integrating with legacy systems on premises. Technical capabilities aside, if you are a mission-driven self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative culture, this role will motivate you for years to come.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$113,700.00 - $142,100.00 - $191,900.00Your Benefits Start Day 1
