Monday & Tuesday 06:00-16:00, Wednesday 06:00-11:00 &15:00-16:00, and Sunday 06:00-19:00;
Wednesday 10:00-16:00, Thursday & Friday 06:00-16:00, and Saturday 06:00-19:00
Monitor and maintain the scientific software for continuous operation.
Begin troubleshooting, investigating, and resolving or annotating potential operating issues.
Collaborate with the development team to identify software bugs and implement improvements.
Start providing on-call support to address urgent issues efficiently.
Work independently in resolving software issues and suggesting enhancements.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for software troubleshooting and resolution.
Contribute to the improvement and automation of error reporting applications.
Enhance your expertise in software and underlying technologies.
Master the monitoring and maintenance of bioinformatics pipelines.
Lead initiatives to improve software quality and operational efficiency.
Provide expert on-call support, minimizing downtime and maintaining software reliability.
Establish yourself as a key team member contributing to the advancement of neoantigen therapies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Strong programming skills in Python and Linux.
Experience with bioinformatics workflow frameworks ( NextFlow preferred), version control systems (Git preferred), Cloud (AWS preferred), and containers (Docker preferred).
Experience in a regulated environment with knowledge of compliance requirements.
Experience with bioinformatics software and an understanding of neoantigen therapies
Proven experience in software quality assurance and quality control
Effective time management, organization, and planning skills
Flexibility; adaptability to frequent change
Results oriented; ability to manage performance.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Personal and shared accountability
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Moderna is on the lookout for a Sr. Bioinformatics Engineer II at our Harwell, UK location. This pivotal role involves monitoring and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines, ensuring compliance with standards, and aiding in the development or specification of methods and procedures for product quality assurance. You will collaborate with bioinformatics and software engineers to design and develop automated tools, playing a crucial part in ensuring the continuous operation of our bioinformatics pipelines.
