      Position Summary


      Individuals serve as business experts within customer operations for business specific systems, processes and data, to plan and manage improvement initiatives. This could include statistical analysis, business case preparation, time study analysis, cost benefit analysis and return on investment analysis. high Individuals have a level of business expertise and provide subject matter expertise for customer operations as well as other functional areas. They work on business-critical systems and/or processes. They design, revise and implement solutions to meet customer & business needs. They exhibit autonomy in applying tools, methodologies and governance structures that align with business objectives for multiple departmental groups.

      Responsibilities


      Provides / Serves as a central contact for technical expertise and business process guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems and the advancement of opportunities.
      • Implements and integrates complex business changes across multiple, cross-functional depts.
      • Resolves complex system & business process problems. Analyzes and develops plan of action to correct or eliminate future issues.
      • Designs, revises and implements solutions to meet customer and business needs. Works to integrate solutions into existing business processes. Helps to manage change and communications across multiple departments.
      • Prepares thorough and accurate technical and business management reports, effective correspondence, accurate documentation and well-maintained records.
      • Coordinates and manages subject matter experts from a variety of disciplines and support organizations toprovide business and system requirementsand validation forbusiness & IT projects
      • Responsible for establishing policy and procedures for specific system security in compliance with corporate IT standards.
      • Define and develop key metrics to measure system/business performance. Lead data analysis and/or root cause investigation that are across multiple work groups or multiple systems.
      • Provide future direction to external vendors for development of products to resolve business issues.
      • Coordinate the development of the long-range and 5-year business plans, and budget for the department and assigned locations to ensure compliance with Company strategic plans.
      • Coaches and mentors business and technical consultants as needed.
      • Develops and maintains standards and best practices across multiple business units

      Required/Basic Qualifications


      • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or
      • Bachelors degree in Technical Business Administration or
      • Bachelors degree in Other Related Degree or
      • Bachelors degree in Business or
      • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or
      • Bachelors degree in Communications or
      • Bachelors degree in Mathematics or
      • Bachelors degree in Statistics
      • 3 years related work experience
      • In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND 3 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 7 year(s) related work experience

      Desired Qualifications


      • Business Process Management and/or Certified Change Management Professional and/or Six Sigma and/or Project Management Professional

      Additional Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in the utility industry.

      • Good Working knowledge of T&D work processes
      • Budget or financial analysis experience

      • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
      • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills
      • Negotiation and conflict management skills
      • Demonstrated leadership within Duke Energy.
