- Lead the development of a large portfolio of new build and development sites to support Petro-Canada’s growth.
- Stand up and lead cross-functional teams in the conceptualization, economic analysis, design, permitting and ultimate construction and turnover of the development sites
- Lead internal and external resources to drive development applications to approval with various municipalities
- Continuously analyze portfolio risks and opportunities to deliver highest value
- Contribute to the development of long-term network plan and strategy
- Provide project management leadership to ensure complex projects are delivered accordingly to operational and financial plans
- Develop new projects and opportunities through the Suncor Operations Excellence Management System (OEMS)
- Review all public notices that impact the use, underlying value and rights associated with the projects
- Develop a high value pipeline of opportunities and ensure capital is managed so return on investment is optimized within our strategy and project scope
- Ten or more years of experience in Retail or Wholesale Operations, Marketing, Strategy or related business areas
- Five or more years of experience in commercial real estate, property management and development, including identification, purchasing, leasing, development and management of retail and wholesale sites
- Post-secondary education; bachelor degree in business or commerce is preferred
- Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
- A Strong Leader who builds relationships through proven demonstration of Integrity, self-awareness, courage, respect, empathy and gratitude
- A Strong Project Manager with demonstrated skills in empowering, delegating and holding others accountable to facilitate the management and coordination of many internal and external partners and simultaneously occurring tasks
- Proven analytical skills to properly evaluate complex real estate investment scenarios
- Demonstrated negotiation skills, with a deep understanding of property valuation and leasing principles and processes from both the tenant and landlord side and municipal processes at various levels of government
- You demonstrate strong two-way communication skills and convey information and ideas in an inclusive, open, articulate and timely manner
- This position will be based from a home office in Edmonton or Calgary
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
- Regular business travel within Alberta and occasional out of province travel as required

In this role, you will report to the Manager Business Development, Asset Management, as an experienced Business Developer you will grow and manage our Petro-Canada portfolio of company-controlled real estate assets for our retail network.
