- Leads complex negotiations with key suppliers along with clear communication to internal stakeholders.
- Tracks and monitors the category for impact to pricing & supply.
- Negotiates and secures desired quantities and varieties at lowest feasible costs that meet quality specifications and plant production requirements.
- Responsible for material rates and operational impacts
- Delivers category rate and risk assessment and associated communication for their assigned materials to appropriate stakeholders.
- Actively leads supplier quality for goods or services to ensure delivery of contracted products/services meet contracted expectations.
- Resolves QCD (quality, cost, delivery) issues with key customers (manufacturing, marketing, R&D, and sales).
- Monitors and tracks supplier performance, cost savings, and continuous improvement and develops and implements the solutions to address issues
- Creates the category supplier strategy in concert with Director.
- Accountable to drive results in Price, Rate and Risk Management, Project Execution, Raw Material Quality, Supplier Service, Supplier Product Innovation
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience in a purchasing role)
- 3+ years’ experience in a corporate purchasing role
- MS Office Suite experience

Due to an internal promotion, we are hiring a Senior Buyer to be based at our corporate offices in either Bloomington or Marshall MN. Come join our Buying Team and have responsibility of purchasing a broad spectrum of goods or services for our growing company. Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $81,750 – $136,250 annually with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance. The salary range represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor in Business Admin. or equivalent
Years of Related Experience: 3-5 Years of related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Very good PC skills including Microsoft Office products and SAP to prepare reports and presentations for upper management. Solid communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with data, category, and market analysis. Experienced in analyzing supplier logistics network to optimize delivered costs. Experienced negotiator with developed skills in strategy development and execution. The ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, achieve objectives, manage confidential information, and work cooperatively in groups. Ability to perform analysis associated with assigned categories such as TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), supplier margin evaluation and discounts.
Ability to analyze supplier logistics structure and optimize accordingly. Proficiency in data generation from electronic systems with analytical skills.
Direct KSA
Series 3 – National Commodities Futures certification required
Proficient in use and applications of futures/options for hedge instruments
Ability to utilize hedge instruments to protect risk.
Indirect KSA
CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) required.
CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional Certification) preferred.
