      We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Senior Buyer role. Responsible for ensuring Flexcon purchases the correct items, in the proper quantity, at the right price within the correct time frame to be present at the correct locations. Determines purchasing actions through investigation, research, and analysis for a defined set of categories and/or suppliers.

      What will you do in this role?

      Align with Procurement Manager to execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories, suppliers, or products.
      Help drive supplier performance in alignment with Flexcon requirements by serving as the primary contact between suppliers and Flexcon for assigned categories/products.
      Support end-to-end sourcing activities for the Strategic Sourcing team that ensures continuity of supply and helps meets business requirements that provide the most value to Flexcon, to include:
      Total cost of ownership (including cost reduction initiatives)
      Identifying opportunities for improvement in the areas of cost, quality, capacity, and service
      Assisting with the preparation, collection, and analysis of Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quote (RFQ) activities
      Assisting in the negotiation of key terms and conditions, such as pricing, lead time, and payment terms, that best consider the interests of Flexcon
      Helping to ensure negotiated contracts and agreements are being properly followed and enforced within assigned categories/suppliers.
      Ensure that purchase orders are placed with the supplier, acknowledged, and confirmed by the supplier, and reviewed/revised as needed to ensure the timely and accurate communication of the data provided, to include price and delivery.
      Help build and maintain supplier relationships based upon needs and alignment to Flexcon goals, acting as the primary contact for day-to-day issues and concerns with the supplier.
      Work with suppliers to support key Supplier Metrics/KPI’s, including quarterly/annual reviews and supplier scorecards, as well as value-added services provided and service levels. Provide status on procurement related initiatives, such as cost impact, vendor rebates, and supplier evaluations, as required.
      Assist in the review and update of key material item attributes and order management parameters with other supply chain stakeholders, including minimum order quantity, re-order point, and safety stock.
      Other duties consistent with the general nature and focus of the position and/or the goals and objectives of the department may be assigned.


      What does it take to be successful in this role?

      Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
      2 to 7 years of procurement/purchasing experience.
      Industry certification (i.e. APICS, ISM) preferred.
      Experience with ERP/MRP, supply chain processes (Tier 1 ERP, e.g. Oracle, SAP preferred)
      Experience with supplier management tools, such as supplier portals, preferred.
      Negotiation skills
      Prior experience participating in supplier assessments or supplier audits preferred.
      Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization and external parties.
      Prior experience with supplier documents such as contracts, quotations & agreements
      Excellent written and verbal communication skills; organized and detail oriented.
      Excellent computer skills, MS Office (Excel) required)
      Ability to work in a challenging/dynamic environment.
      Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks/assignments.
      Prior industry experience is an asset.
