Job Description

- Procurement subject matter expert responsible for purchasing both indirect and direct goods and services
- Ensures the timely delivery of materials and services in support of R&D projects and supports production planning and scheduling, distribution, warehousing, and fulfillment
- Primary point of contact and subject matter expert for shipping/receiving, logistics, and inbound/outbound customs
- Prepare and execute RFQs, evaluate proposals, and lead supplier selection
- Evaluate and select suppliers based upon assessment of their quality system and capabilities.
- Manage the implementation of new suppliers, ensuring all requirements have been met for the ASL and that any necessary first articles and/or validations have been completed
- Develop and enhance relationships with strategic suppliers/partners
- Ensure Confidentiality Agreements and required contracts are established with suppliers
- Work with Quality and Engineering to review and process rejected material for final disposition and coordinate the return of material for credit or replacement
- Work with Finance on invoicing, purchase orders and inventory management and support financial audits
- Monitor component life cycles and proactively recommend life cycle management initiatives
- Complete projects and tasks, including cost-saving and quality improvement projects, in an aggressive manner consistent with corporate objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience required
- 6+ years of experience in procurement
- 3+ years of experience in demand and supply planning
- 3+ years of experience in international logistics
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, oral and written communication skills required
- Advanced knowledge of customs requirements and international logistics
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite is required. Strong Excel skills desired (e.g., Vlookups, pivot tables, Power Query, etc.)
- Experience with one or more ERP systems required
- Experience with domestic and international contract manufacturers and 3PLs
- Experience with ROHS and ECO implementation and a basic ability to understand engineering specifications
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing, lean manufacturing, financial accounting, and supplier management
- Results-oriented, strong sense of ownership, and committed to achieving meaningful results
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines in a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to streamline business processes in a manual environment
Overview: The Sr. Buyer/Planner works within a regulated quality system to procure components, finished goods, & services for the manufacture and distribution of medical devices. Serving as the primary contact with suppliers, the Sr. Buyer/Planner fosters positive and mutually beneficial partnerships, negotiates contracts that are in the best interest of the company, participates in evaluating supplier reliability, develops new supply sources, plans and purchases materials to support development and production

California's base salary range for this position is $115,000-$155,000 (highly qualified) annually. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
