      Job Description:

This Sr Change Consultant invests in Southwest’s purpose by advocating for our Employees throughout the design and delivery of strategic and actionable plans that help our People successfully adopt change. This Sr Consultant joins the Change Management Team, which engages with every business function across the organization and all Employees across projects. This role will champion Departments, Teams, and Business Partners in order to help them achieve their intended results through Change Management. The Sr Change Consultant is passionate about supporting our People, learning and growing in their expertise each day, and helping to pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

      Additional details:

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

      Job Summary:

      • Exhibits significant and varied experience leading change on large-scale business transformation projects. Demonstrates a strong knowledge of Change Leadership methodologies and tools. Leads all Change Leadership activities as part of a cross-departmental Team charged with implementing various Business and Technology-driven initiatives. Applies the Southwest Airlines Change Leadership methodology to effectively develop and implement Change Leadership strategies and plans including, but not limited to the following: vision and case for change, change strategy, Leadership and Stakeholder alignment, communication, business/change impacts, and organizational development. Assesses readiness for change and evaluates/drives improvement for overall project Team health.

      Responsibilities
      • Assumes a high level of responsibility and ownership for assigned work/projects; requires minimal oversight
      • Assumes the role of the project/program Change Lead in managing the overall Change Leadership strategy, timelines, and deliverables for any complexity level projects or initiatives
      • Employs advanced critical/strategic thinking skills to identify issues, question assumptions, develop comprehensive solutions/recommendations and escalate for resolution if needed
      • Build strong, trusting relationships with project Team Members, key Stakeholders, and Executive Sponsor(s)
      • Conducts business impact and risk assessments to determine people, process, and technology impacts at the company, department, and job-specific levels and determines the best approach for addressing impacts and risks
      • Develop and execute coordinated, comprehensive change and communication plans (including ample opportunities for two-way dialogue) to facilitate clear, consistent, and honest internal/external messaging along all phases of the project
      • Develops and executes strategies and plans for aligning Leaders and all levels of Stakeholders to project goals and objectives
      • Identifies, plans, and implements project health, effectiveness, and success measurement metrics and tactics
      • Conducts analysis on surveys and other project data and creates presentations and summaries of key themes, outcomes, etc.
      • Scopes new work for change leadership needs and help determine options for staffing
      • Develops, delivers, facilitates, and/or participates in various meetings, workshops, and developmental opportunities
      • Develop and deliver presentations and other change collateral for all levels of the organization
      • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

      • Advanced knowledge of Change Leadership principles
      • Advanced knowledge of methods of communication, training, and project planning techniques, processes, and impacts
      • Employs advanced critical/strategic thinking skills to identify issues, question assumptions, develop comprehensive solutions/recommendations and escalate for resolution if needed
      • Exhibits advanced oral communication and presentation delivery skills
      • Expresses ideas clearly in documents which have an advanced level of organization, structure, grammar, language and terminology adjusted to the characteristics and needs of the audience
      • Works systematically to resolve problems, identify causes, anticipate implications and make informed decisions
      • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and challenges assumptions in a constructive way; pursues innovations and creative solutions
      • Advanced knowledge of focused business area and does not often need to rely on subject matter expert to predict or understand the project impact
      • Understands when a group member’s behavior is impacting results, has advanced skills to take action of the most appropriate type to achieve the right objectives, outcomes, and goals
      • Handles complex, confidential and sensitive situations appropriately and maintains objectivity
      • Knowledge of communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
      • Advance skills in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
      • Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office Suite

      Education

      • Required: High School Diploma or GED

      Experience

      • Expert-level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge in:

        • Change Leadership

        • Partnering at the Executive level on enterprise-wide projects, solving complex problems, and driving multiple Stakeholders towards change

      • Preferred: Experience in change management or leadership

      • Preferred: Experience in thought leadership, particularly strategy design recommendations that are tied to business results

      Licensing/Certification

      Physical Abilities

      • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

      • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

      • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

      Other Qualifications

      • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

      • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

      • Must be at least 18 years of age

      • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

      • Limited travel with potential for increased/decreased travel based upon Department needs

      Pay & Benefits:

      Competitive market salary from $130,750 to $145,300 per year * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the

      discretion of the company.
