Leading complex “beats,” developing deep business acumen and forging strong partnerships within the enterprise communications working team and beyond
Engaging in roundtables, where you’ll use your content expertise to collaborate with and influence the enterprise communications strategy and service team and other centers of excellence
Assessing audience insights and pitching audience-driven content ideas
Setting measurable goals, sharing results and applying learnings to future work
Crafting strategic content plans that balance our business and audiences’ insights and needs
Confidently presenting and representing the work through every stage
Driving continuous evolution of our content
Bring strategic content plans to life through engaging, multisensory storytelling with little oversight from manager. This includes:
Owning the content creation and execution process for your assigned beats alongside your creative teammates
Writing long- and short-form content — from press releases and paid amplification headlines to internal newsletter copy and more — based on channel voice and tone, project objectives and multisensory approach
Driving through reviews, assessing feedback and revising content by balancing business and audience needs
Help drive our team’s impact, skillset and culture forward. This includes:
Honing your content expertise, including studying the external landscape and how stakeholders consume content and championing emerging tools and tech, like GenAI, SEO and paid amplification and more
Actively sharing your expertise, teaching and mentoring your partners and peers
Consistently demonstrating behaviors aligned to Target’s values of Inclusivity, Connection and Drive
Own specific bodies of work. This could include:
Overseeing content of assigned sections of the corporate website, corporate.target.com, conducting quarterly governance reviews and consulting with partners on new content opportunities
Owning content oversight and strategy of specific owned channels
Leading a special project to advance team goals
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 8 years of professional communications experience
Strategic, insight-driven mindset
Fluent in the myriad current and emerging ways stakeholders consume content, with ability to translate those insights into content plans and storytelling
Proven team player: highly effective at planning, partnering and influencing internal partners
Strong editorial judgement, with ability to focus on both broad, strategic vision and small, critical details
Expert on communicating information clearly and creatively
Highly organized with the ability to independently adapt, prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks or projects in response to changing, ambiguous or competing priorities
Ability to work autonomously and manage projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate prioritization and ensuring adherence to deadlines
The pay range is $89,700.00 - $161,500.00Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
