      About this role:

      As the front-line control arm of Commercial Banking, Commercial Banking Control Management develops and supports a strong control environment that leads to early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk, through joint accountability with business and process leaders. The control function is responsible for: risk identification and as assessment, control and issue management, control design and evaluation, reporting and governance, and control programs.

      Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist. The Wells Fargo Commercial Capital Control team leads the control management functions for several businesses within Commercial Capital. In partnership with other Control team members, responsibilities will include, data analysis, risk identification and assessment, issue management, control design and evaluation, control reporting and governance, and other control programs. Develops and maintains partnerships with the business process owner by consulting and providing expertise in the control design to effectively mitigate risks, including design of effective means of measurement. Contributes to the development and enhancement of the business control environment through execution of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program. Engages in the development and implementation of new controls, action plans, and root cause analysis. Supports the evaluation and design of appropriate metrics to inform and monitor the health of the operational risk environment. Identifies gaps and areas of improvement in existing processes and recommends improvements. Supports a strong risk management culture through the implementation of key risk management programs into the standard operating framework of the business.

      In this role, you will:

      • Participate in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating current and emerging risk exposures within Control Management functional area
      • Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and business controls
      • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
      • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
      • Provide guidance to business groups on the development, implementation, and monitoring of business specific programs to identify, assess, and mitigate risk
      • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations


      Required Qualifications, US:

      • 4+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


      Desired Qualifications:

      • Experience with Wells Fargo's Control processes, including issue management and major requirement review and control alignment
      • Risk identification experience
      • RCSA (risk and control self-assessment) experience
      • ABL (asset-based lending) product experience
      • Knowledge of corporate policies and understanding of how they are implemented, managed and enforced.
      • Strong collaboration and partnering skills
      • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
      • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
      • Ability to work independently
      • Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
      • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
      • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
      • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
