- Prepares monthly/quarterly/annual tax workpapers to ensure accurate financial statement reporting and timely and accurate tax compliance.
- Maintains tax basis fixed assets ledgers to support non-cash tax deductions and book/tax timing differences relating to net value of assets.
- Assists in preparing tax budgets and forecasts to ensure accurate determination of cash taxes and accruals.
- Prepares accruals, AJE’s and reconciliations to ensure all tax accounts are properly reflected in the financial statements.
- Initiates the timely making of tax payments by check and via electronic payment options with federal and state tax jurisdictions.
- Monitors and manages the tax due date calendar to ensure timely filing of returns and tax payments.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a Concentration in Accounting required. Master’s Degree with a concentration in Tax, a plus
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant tax accounting experience
- Regional or Big 4 Public Accounting, Timeshare/Hospitality or large corporate tax department experience required
- Working knowledge of income tax concepts and calculations
- CPA is a plus
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and ONESOURCE (or equivalent) Tax Software, a plus
- International tax experience is a plus
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Technical knowledge of diverse tax issues
- Solid workpaper documentation skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral)
- Must be able to establish productive relationships with internal and external partners
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to work in a team environment and support the core values of the company

This position will be under the direct supervision of a Sr. Director and VP. Its responsibilities include assisting with various aspects of compliance work for a variety of Federal, State and Local tax returns. Managing the Direct tax due date calendar. Preparing comprehensive workpapers for external service providers to use in the preparation of annual tax returns and the annual tax provision calculations. Calculating and initiating estimated tax and other tax payments. Assisting in preparing budgets, forecasts, AJE’s and reconciliations for income, franchise and property taxes accounts. Preparing responses to tax notices from various tax jurisdictions.
