- Product Knowledge - knowledge of commercial lending products.
- Systems knowledge - acquired through training (examples: ACBS, MIF, MODIF, ECIF)
- Deal types - dealing with syndicated credit facilities and bi-lateral facilities.
- Service Delivery Reliability - Liaise and interact with Clients and Business Partners. Respond to inquiries and requests providing professional high quality of customer service for the assigned portfolio. Monitor ongoing risks associated with accounts through systems and reports for all credit facilities to process transactions and ensure accuracy of data.
- Compliance and Production Support - Review complex loan documentation and have an understanding of financial ratios to ensure compliance with authorized credit and ensure conditions precedent are met prior to closing and escalate errors/omissions for correction pre-and-post closing. Ensure adherence to the credit authority (Risk management). Follow commercial escalation procedure when a breach or non-compliance within 48 hours.
- Relationship Management - Manage relationships with CIBC Business Partners on all credit-related activities to ensure accounts operate within terms and conditions of the authorized credit. Act as a consultant to the business for deal structure and presentation to ensure customer satisfaction. Manage the credit fulfillment function by providing specialized operational and administrative expertise.

The Sr Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for providing efficient operational support while maintaining compliance with internal controls and procedures within the functional area. The role applies comprehensive technical and system knowledge to act as a point of escalation and provide timely resolution to complex issues. The Sr Specialist exercises independent judgement in determining feasible solutions for clients, handling situations that require further analysis and investigation. The role leads the implementation of process improvement initiatives, seeking opportunities to streamline existing processes and procedures. Working with limited direction, the role provides training and coaching to others in the department to increase overall knowledge, expertise and productivity.
What You’ll Be Doing
Credit Processing Services provides compliance and credit fulfillment support to Commercial Banking. As the Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will be accountable for providing specialized service for credit-related products to an industry specific portfolio within Commercial Banking. You will be responsible for the administration and monitoring of credit facilities and maintain responsibility for the input, monitoring and escalation of risk elements on all credit portfolios with minimal supervision.
