      ABOUT THE ROLE

      The Direct to Consumer Data & Analytics organization is seeking a Senior Decision Analyst to join our Strategic Forecasting & Decision Analytics team. As Sr. Decision Analyst, you will apply analytical rigor to optimize strategic decisions based on decision and data science principles. Projects include strategic decision support, content portfolio management, merchandising, acquisition & licensing, release strategy optimization, and churn & subscriber health. The ideal candidate has exceptional analytical capabilities, thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves problem-solving, communicates effectively, and is passionate about television and film. They should enjoy utilizing data to drive business decisions and be eager to learn.

      WHAT YOU'LL DO

      1. Apply advanced analytics techniques (data mining, visualization, statistical analysis, causal inference, regression, machine learning, time-series forecasting) to large-scale, high-dimensional data to inform global business decisions.
      2. Analyze customer behavior (e.g., genre preferences, viewing patterns) to identify unmet customer needs and content opportunities.
      3. Use advanced causal inference methodologies to quantify engagement and the impact of sharing title licenses with platforms.
      4. Predict content engagement to guide acquisition decisions.
      5. Optimize content launch and episode release strategies.
      6. Test merchandising strategies to enhance engagement and retention.
      7. Develop new metrics and KPIs for content performance, engagement, and churn to support strategic decisions.
      8. Support complex projects, workstreams, and initiatives by scoping, managing resources, adapting plans, and representing the product to stakeholders and leadership.
      9. Maintain stakeholder relationships, understand their needs, and provide solutions.
      10. Provide ad-hoc analysis to support business growth.
      11. Communicate results through compelling data storytelling across the organization.

      WHAT TO BRING

      1. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Economics, or related field.
      2. 5+ years of analytical experience.
      3. 5+ years of experience developing machine learning models and analyzing data with Python and/or R.
      4. 5+ years of querying cloud-hosted databases with SQL.
      5. Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning techniques: time-series forecasting, causal inference, regression, decision trees, clustering, etc.
      6. Ability to work independently and creatively solve open-ended problems.
      7. Excellent data storytelling skills (verbal, written, visual).
      8. Familiarity with data exploration and visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, or JupyterLab/Notebook.
      9. Ability to explain models and algorithms to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      10. Experience with data solutions using Databricks, S3, Spark.

      NICE-TO-HAVES

      1. Master's degree in a related quantitative field.
      2. Passion for media and entertainment.

      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

      The salary range varies by location: San Francisco, CA ($125,800 - $168,700), Santa Monica, CA ($114,900 - $154,100), New York, NY ($120,300 - $161,300). Compensation includes base pay, bonuses, incentives, and benefits, depending on the candidate's region and experience.
