TITLE: Senior Data Engineer
LOCATION: Washington, D.C. and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. (remote position)
DUTIES: Supports projects that may span a broad range of systems which require expertise in multiple technical environments and an increased level of business knowledge. Creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture. Assembles large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements. Identifies, designs, and implements automation to manual processes; optimizes data delivery; and re-designs infrastructure for greater scalability. Builds the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Cloud technologies. Builds analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics. Creates data tools for analytics and data science team members that assist them in building and optimizing our products into an innovative industry leader. Works with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems. Reviews modules for quality assurance (QA) and checks compliance with application architecture standards and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Defines development guidelines and standards to be utilized in software development and integration. Provides ongoing maintenance to applications.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field followed by five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Senior Data Engineer or any occupation related to software development Must also have three (3) years of experience: 1) Optimizing analytics performance by writing SQL queries on the data that resides in a relational database, including Amazon Redshift, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Snowflake; 2) Ensuring quality of the data assets through regression testing, user acceptance testing, and performance testing; 3) Driving data and information adoption through use of Cloud technologies, including Azure cloud, Salesforce Cloud, and Amazon cloud; 4) Ingesting and transforming data to load into the Data warehouse using ETL tools, including Informatica and Data Stage; 5) Resolving data quality issues by logging and tracking defects and testing cases using test management tools, including HP quality center and HP Application Lifecycle Manager; 6) Reporting key performance metrics for the organization utilizing reporting tools, including Business Objects and Tableau; and 7) Deploying applications using Agile and Waterfall methodologies for faster time to market. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Remote work permitted in accordance with standard company policy. All positions require pre-employment background check verification and

SALARY: $149,594 per year
